Valentin Berestnyev: I want to develop our young players

Valentyn Berestnyev is not only a family man or just a Head Coach of BC Red October, but he’s also a columnist. On the latest update of his column on basket-planet.com Berestnyev admitted that he wants to develop Russian players badly:

— I’ve worked that way for all my life. When I was working in MBC Mykolaiv, I always tried to sign some underrated players. We’ve been working a lot with them, trying to develop them, trying to make them better both as a player and as a person and re-signed them after each season with a slightly increased wage. We’ve tried to show them that every aspect of their game could be developed and they will get a reward with their paychecks if they are willing to work hard enough to improve their game. I want to develop Russian players badly and I want to say to them: If you really want to play, if you really want to work as hard as you can and if you’re waiting for the chance to showcase your talents – our doors are open for all of you 24/7
